About Me
Hello, I'm Brian Douglass. I'm currently finishing up my Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science at Messiah and I plan on graduating in the spring of 2012 through the honors program. I enjoy programming both desktop and web applications, but I especially like building websites. I also enjoy playing around with Linux servers.
Are you in need of a website? I can make you one, just contact me and let me know about the project and I will get back to you!
Current Work: DiversiLabs
I am currently working for DiversiLabs and have been working there since May 2010. I started out working at Diversilabs by overhauling their website to use PHP and a MySQL database backend in addition to the HTML and CSS that was already there. I modified the site so that users could sign up and submit to the database and participate in forum discussions (using a simple forum that I built). One challege with the DiversiLabs website was that my boss wanted to make sure that the website would work with older browsers like Netscape and IE 3 just in case hospitals were still running old browsers. It was a challege, but for the most part the website will work on most older browsers.
Since I finished working on their website I've moved to replacing the GUI for their program - the Dose Volume Histogram Evaluator or DVH Evaluator for short. The current program is programmed in Matlab, but the GUI not as good as it could be. So I've been tasked with designing the GUI in C++ using the Qt library.

Current Work: Messiah College (SCS)
In addition to working for DiversiLabs I also am working from Messiah College's Student Computer Services (SCS) where I work fixing computer problems ranging from virus infested computers, to reinstalling and reconfiguring Windows, to making sure lab computers are up and running.
August 2009 - Present
Current Work: Messiah College (SymPRM)
Also at Messiah College I am working with another student and a professor maintaining and updating the School of Science, Engeneering, and Health's Symposium Project Registration & Management (SymPRM) web app. We have been fixing a lot of the issues that users have been facing and we are currently implementing many new features in order to improve the application. Many of these new features will be using the jQuery and jQuery UI Javascript libraries in addition to AJAX.

Current Project: The Collaboratory (MAP)
Along with my other projects and work I have been a part of the Collaboratory's Information Management team since September 2009 and during the 2010-2011 school year our team has been working on creating a new Member Acheivement Profile (MAP) web application. This web app has been build with HTML and PHP with a MySQL database.
Past Project: Curehydro
In my service learning course at Messiah College I am working with a team of three other students in collaboration with two other teams of students to build a web application for Cure International to track patients that have Hydrocephalus and keep track of useful information associated with those patients. This app is a database driven (MySQL) website with a dynamic interface using HTML, PHP, jQuery, and AJAX.
